I kinda flipped out on someone at work today...they tried to make a joke about me and voices in my head....thats not funny to me..I lost a friend to schizophrenia....I lost him b/c the voice in his head was too strong and I don't think its a cute thing to joke about...he was one of the most intelligent people I have ever known and I can't stand the ignorance of people who just know stupid tee shirt lines and lame comebacks and don't understand the real conations!!

While I like to believe that the person likely meant no offense with the comment, you are right, it is not really a topic that should be made light of. in general, people simply do not think before they speak. I think you were very much justified in going off on them. Maybe next time, at least that person will think twice before making a tasteless, stupid comment.

And I am sorry about your friend.
